PLEASE READ FIRST; paragraphs below explain how we are different from "conventional topsites" - rules and setup.
1. We do not use gateway voting pages. You have probably been a member of other topsites and saw how much traffic is lost due to gateway pages - very low percentage of people actually vote.
On
our topsite, loading your voting link will result in counting a vote and directing a user directly to the topsite.
You can load your voting link via popunder, or via website or newsletters link, or via voting prompt - whatever you prefer.
Note that loading your voting link via popunders is allowed, and constitutes valid votes (since we do not use gateway pages).
Moreover, popunders will bring you many more votes than links or voting prompts (since in case of popunder users do not have to click anything in order to generate a vote).
If you plan to promote mainly via simple links and voting prompts, you will still get a decent traffic back from the list (sites which send us just several hits normally get over a hundred visitors back for every visitor they send).
2. When you create an account you have to use URL for one of your greetings/funpages, but you can not use your main site URL for your account. This would defeat the idea of our topsite which
is to bring visitors latest greetings links (not the same URLs for main sites as other topsites do). Sites which end up in positions 1-25 have to change their links at least once a week, otherwise you have to change your links at least once a month.
This way even repeated visitors will click on new links and generate repeated traffic for all the members.
Our list resets every Wednesday at 9am EST.
3. Multiple accounts ARE ALLOWED for different pages on your site.
If you create several accounts, you can use the same email address, but have to use different pages/URLs and choose different usernames.
4. Loading your vioting link via popunders is allowed, and constitutes valid votes (since we do not use gateway pages).
5. We list 25 sites (page links) per page. It may sound like a lot, but they all fit nicely into one page because we use only text links (no banners) and use only page titles (no descriptions).
With such design visitors observe and click at many more links per visit than at other "conventional topsites".
6. Hits In/Out on our topsite are printed with white color on white background.
This way visitors do not see them, but webmasters can see them by selecting the page with a mouse or by pressing Ctrl-A
Experience shows that hiding in/out hits from visitors eliminates "out hits inflation" cheating (when some members would try to artificially inflate out hits to
make the site seem more popular to visitors.
7. We have absolutely no advertising on our topsite, except for exit popunder on the topsite page, which has a frequency cap of once per 12 hours, and POPs up only when the user clicks on all the greetings page links, and closes the page.
8. We use various methods for tracking any fraudulent hits.
Any attempts of cheating (loading our topsite via hidden frames, resizing the page to hide all or part of the topsite listings, using bots to simulate traffic, etc.) will result in immediate banning from both
this toplist
and EcardsAddict toplist, and notifications sent to other major topsites.
